Project offices
There are 5 project offices in the framework of the development and investments department of Salavatnefteorgsintez JSC. The project offices are aimed towards realization of the strategically important trends of growth. Urea PO oversees implementation of urea production retrofitting works. The reconstruction performance follows the programmed schedule. Project documentation development comes to a close. The chemical water treatment package retrofitting project in Mineral fertilizer plant is progressing according to the fixed schedule.
Large scale retrofitting projects in Oil refinery plant is supervised by "Bitumen, Visbreaking, Catalytic cracking" project office. Construction works at bitumen production are successfully completed. "Viscosity breaking" project is in progress. At present catalytic cracking project is at the preparation for construction stage of development.
Project office "Polyethylene" supervises Polyethylene project.
Sulzer Company process technology on Polystyrene project is at the further development stage. New equipment shall be installed in place of the operating extruder. This work is within the scope of Polystyrene PO. Project ‘Oil Refinery ТК-2 plant ELOU block Re-equipment" shall also be carried out by the above office. The project target is to produce stable, purified, demercaptanized condensate from Karachaganak deposit suitable for further shipment by rail way or for processing by own technological units.
The following works are within the scope of "EP -380 Modernization" project office: cracking heaters replacement, turbo compressor M-1 steam turbine renewal to increase EP-300 production capacity up to 380 kt/y.
Modernization
At present Salavatnefteorgsintez JSC develops measures on retrofitting of the existing production units to increase output capacities, improve commercial production quality, and reduce production costs.
Makeup Demineralizer Unit modernization (Energokaskad)
The project target is to
- provide AM-76 block with daily production capacity of 1700 tons and the production workshops of SNOS with the required amount of chemically treated water;
- reduce specific power consumption rate;
- eliminate the usage of expensive water supply from heat power plant .
Urea production modernization.
The project target is to
- increase productive capacity of workshop No. 50 to 100 tn/day;
- reduce power consumption in order to improve the workshop performance;
- improve the quality of the commercial product.
Urea granulation unit.
The project target is to
- produce high quality granulated urea at workshop No. 24.
Elemental Sulfur Production plant Reconstruction (PES - II)
The project target is to
- utilize hydrogen sulphide developed in the process of hydrotreatment of oil distillates and sulphate- alkaline effluents treatment based on the method of partial catalytic oxidation. As a result of the process elemental sulfur is obtained. The realization of the project will allow to increase Oil refinery productive capacity without environmental impact.
EP-380 modernization
The project target is
-ethylene production retrofitting and ethylene capacity increase up to 380 kt/y;
-to provide ethylene - based potential units with sufficient amount of crude supply;
-to secure state-of the-art economic performances of EP-300 plant.
-phase-in one at a time replacement of the operating ethylene/propylene production cracking heaters of EP-300 to the more efficient state-of the-art high selectivity heaters.
Constructrion
At present the company draft development program until 2012 covers the following productions:
120kt/y HDPE plant.
The target of the project is
- to arrange competitive state-of the-art polyethylene production plant employing advanced, ecologically and technically safe processes.
Viscosity breaking plant.
The target of the project is
- to reduce viscosity effectiveness of vacuum residues in compliance with technical requirements for commodity residual oils;
- to reduce a total amount of low-value fuel oil;
- to resolve fuel transfer, transportation and realization issues;
- increase crude oil refining depth to 5-10 percent;
- additional yield of power resources.
Automatic On-Spot Filling Plant for dark oil products (AUTN)
The project target is
-optimization of product shipments in the rationally short time;
-to secure tracking accuracy;
-to minimize oil products losses;
-to minimize material consumption and power resources;
-to minimize ecological impact.
The unit capacity amounts to 3 mln.tn/y.
Atmospheric Vacuum Tube and Electrical Desalting Plant (ELOU AVT-6)
The project target is
-to increase recovery of light end products and gas oil cuts from oil;
-to increase fractionating accuracy;
-operative regulation of crude oil quality;
-to remove aged and physically worn out existing units AVT-1, AVT-3, AVT-4, ELOU-2 and ELOU-5 from operation;
-reduction of energy consumption.
Alkilation unit with isomerization block
The project target is
- competent processing of catalytic butane-butadiene cuts into a high octane component of commodity gasoline which will allow to decrease benzene and aromatic components contents of gasoline.
Catalytic cracker
The project is targeted at
- heavy oil and gas condensate crude conversion depth increase to receive fuel blend components and feedstock for petrochemistry.
Boost of gasoline hydrotreatment will allow to produce high quality commodity gasoline component with minimal octane number reduction (to about one point).
- a sufficient decrease in hydrogen consumption compared to hydrotreatment technology (to about 4-5 points). There will be no necessity in building up hydrogen production unit.
High impact polystyrene unit
The project target is to
- produce a grass-root competitive polystyrene production on the basis of the state-of the-art environmentally and technically sound processes.
Hydrocracking unit
The project target is
- processing surplus vacuum gasoil to produce high quality diesel and jet fuel oils;
- upgrading catalytic cracking feed stock.
Erection of Hydrocracking unit will allow high process flexibility of Oil refinery in relation to production of both gasoline yields (from the catalytic cracking) and high quality diesel and jet fuel oils.
